2022 Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN C42
New Alfa Romeo drivers Valtteri Bottas and (rookie) Zhou Guanyu hoping to pick up decent results with the C42 in 2022
A regulations change featuring ground effects is enough to contend with—imagine adding new drivers to the mix. For Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN, can its C42 car and the 2022 season represent a chance to (hopefully) shake things up enough to score better results? Well…
Despite a first test (in testing livery) that limited running to 52 laps in total (the lowest total among teams), the team remains optimistic ahead of the next test.
“The C42 is a car we look forward to seeing racing, not just because it is the first we built in this new regulations cycle, one in which racing should be closer and more thrilling, but because we have the utmost confidence in this car helping the team make a big step forward towards the front of the grid.”
– Frédéric Vasseur, team principal
Given the focus its new drivers will bring the team—the combination of 10-time race winner Valterria Bottas and rookie driver from China Zhou Guanyu—it’s tough to not root for Alfa Romeo in 2022. A final note: Alfa Romeo Centro Stile created the livery and it’s much fresher than in previous years. Well done!
