Watch the first VW ID.5 and ID.5 GTX being built

What’s it like to be on the Zwickau factory floor with a film crew hovering? Pure ASMR from a modern assembly line

Factory footage at its best: uncut and without voiceover, hosts, music, or introduction. Why is this footage significant? It's not every day that one of the world's largest automakers finishes converting one of its linchpin plants from fossil fuel production to electric vehicle production. Volkswagen says:

“The long-established site in western Saxony is the first large-scale facility of any volume manufacturer worldwide to switch over all production from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles.”

The company's modular electric drive-only MEB platform forms the basis for six models from Volkswagen, Audi and CUPRA—all to be manufactured in Zwickau.
