The perfect music accompaniment to a chill drive or late-night work session, provided as part of the 2024 Eco Mileage Challenge
Everyone knows that Hyundai N produces popular, lengthy Eurobeat mixes to accompany its in-car exploits at the Nürburgring.
Oh…you didn't?
The antithesis to Eurobeat and crushing Nürburgring lap times would be if a major automaker did a chill soundtrack to accompany footage of cars driving efficiently.
Next best thing, and less abusive to your audio equipment?
Honda's charming lo-fi beats, set to live footage from the annual Eco Mileage Challenge.
From the video description, emphasis ours:
Eco Mileage Challenge (EMC) is a car race sponsored by Honda that has continued since 1981, in which contestants compete for fuel efficiency using their own race cars designated for this competition. The contestants drive around a circuit at a set average speed of about 15.5 mph, aiming to reach the goal without depleting their fuel consumption as much as possible.
The champions of the 43rd competition were two teams.
In the newly introduced Carbon-Neutral Fuel Class, ”チームファイアボール(Team Fireball)" recorded a fuel consumption of 5,918MPG, a distance equivalent to Aichi - Guam.
Meanwhile, in the High-Octane Class, “水曜クラブ(Wednesday Club)” secured their second consecutive championship with a fuel consumption of 7,080MPG — a distance comparable to traveling from Tokyo to Manila.
